A Church that loves God

Today, I had the great privilege to speak to Scott.  Scott is a minister in a church in southern Georgia just north of Jacksonville, Florida.  His church is on the edge, exciting, and growing faster than anybody expected.  I could tell in his voice that he was having the time of his life.  I became excited for him as I thought back to a great experience I had in a similar situation some years ago.  God blessed me greatly when he sent me to Dover Christian Church in Lebanon, Indiana.  Before going I remember falling before the Lord and telling Him, not asking him, that if he wanted me in the ministry he needed to make it completely clear.  When I got the call to visit Dover, I did not want to go.  Another rural church surrounded by nothing but corn fields.  We went to visit, to check things out and thought we would never get there.  The first thing we noticed was the wind, it never stops blowing in Dover.  All the way there I thought,  I really don't want to be here.  We got to the church, it was nice but outdated, not what I had in mind, I just could not believe this was the place God was going to use me.  Well I was wrong, I was completely wrong!  This small church turned out to be God's direct answer to my prayer of need.  In no time the growth came and God seemed to bless everything we tried.  After two months people began making decision and every Sunday the lost came to accept Jesus Christ as Lord.  We grew, lives were touched, became the talk of the county, grew some more, it was the greatest time of my life.  The moral of the story is simple.  Go where God wants you to go even if you don't want to go there.  Give it to Him and hang on because it's going to be the time of your life.
